Reconstruction of Residential Homes
The New York City Department of Design and Construction’s Build It Back Program assisted New York City property owners whose properties were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. With a budget of $282 million, the program focused on creative urban design strategies to tackle complex design and infrastructure limitations, fostering greater neighborhood cohesion.

The program’s scope included construction management, scoping and design services, and construction for the rehabilitation, elevation, and reconstruction of one- to four-family homes, including common spaces and individual units. The buildings include detached, semi-detached, and fully attached constructions.

Essential Master Scheduling
The AECOM Tishman team served as construction manager for the program, which involved the construction and rehabilitation of over 720 homes in Queens. As a subconsultant, Group PMX provided master scheduling and project management services. Our dedicated team developed “what if” scenarios, resulting in the preparation of over 3,000 distinct schedules to support successful implementation.
